The BET Awards 2019 gave spectacular a whole new meaning, as the world tuned into the annual event, that was held at the Microsoft Theatre, in Los Angeles, on Sunday, 23 June,

BET Awards 2019: What were the highlights of the show?

The night saw a lot of memorable moments. Regina Hall did an amazing job on her debut as a host of an awards ceremony.

Cardi B’s opening performance set the tone for what was an explosive evening, filled with fireworks and inspirational displays from the world’s most talented artists.

Mary J Blige finally got recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award, coupled by a tribute that would bring tears to the eyes of those who have supported her since the late 80s when Hip-Hop did not allow women at the forefront of the genre.

Nipsey Hussle was remembered too, a life that was taken by the same streets he worked tirelessly to repair.

Sho Madjozi wins big at BET

All around, the ceremony was a great success. Nobody has a greater time than our very own Sho Madjozi.

The Limpopo Champions League debutant got the recognition she has worked hard for, when she was announced as the winner of the Best New International Act category, beating her counterparts from Europe.

AKA, who lost out on an award to Burna Boy, took the time to congratulate her on his Instagram page.

We have a feeling that this is only just the beginning of Madjozi’s road to infinite success,
